Paul started Spine and Sport Physical Therapy in 2003 to provide expert hands-on physical therapy for active individuals from retired golfers to professional surfers and everyone in between.
Paul has treated patients and trained athletes for over 24 years. His clients include athletes and professionals affiliated with the Anaheim Angels, Anaheim Ducks, San Diego Riptide, OMBAC Rugby and USA Rugby.
Paul earned his bachelors of Science degree in Nutritional & Exercise Science with an emphasis in Athletic Training with distinction from San Diego State University while completing a two year internship in Athletic Training. He was certified by the National Athletic Trainer's Association (NATA) in 1996 and National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) in 1997.
He earned his Master’s and Doctor of Physical Therapy degrees in 2001 and 2002 with honors from the University of St. Augustine, Institute of Physical Therapy, in Florida.
Post-graduate Doctorate education and training awarded him a certification in Manual Therapy (M.T.C) from the University of St. Augustine. While in physical therapy practice, Paul has completed the training from the American Academy of Spinal Manipulation and was awarded a Certification in Spinal Manipulative Therapy and Dry Needling

Melissa earned her bachelors of Science degree in 2001 with honors from the University of California Santa Barbara.
She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2005 with honors from Simmons college in Boston, Massachusetts.
Her post-graduate Doctorate education included a concentration in Health Promotion and Wellness and she presented her research of a school based backpack health promotion program to APTA Massachusetts Chapter in 2003.
Melissa treats adults and children in outpatient orthopedic setting and has special interests in pre-natal/post-partum evaluations and treatments as well as breast cancer and post-mastectomy care.

Sam earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, where he graduated in the top of his class with High Honors Distinction. Additionally, Sam received his Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2021.
Through extensive clinical experiences, Sam has acquired a diverse skill set in orthopedic rehabilitation, post-operative care, and sports therapy. Most notably, Sam was selected for a competitive internship at the Exos Training Facility Headquarters, where he worked closely with NFL, collegiate, and elite high school athletes. Sam is familiar with advanced screening and testing technologies and is passionate about the return to sport aspect of physical therapy. Sam also competed as a NCAA Division I Track and Field athlete in the Decathlon while at the University of California, Santa Barbara. From this experience, Sam understands the challenges of recovery and the importance of effective rehabilitation strategies. Sam is dedicated to helping patients of all backgrounds achieve their goals and return to the activities they love.
